Activity Idea: Letter to a Friend
From the October 2022 Newsletter
“‘You have been my friend,' replied Charlotte. 'That in itself is a tremendous thing.’” — E.B. White, Charlotte’s Web
Good friends are a blessing!—and in one of my classes this term we’ve been reading Charlotte’s Web, which features a sweet friendship between two very different animals. Whether you have a friend who lives far away, or a friend just down the road, it’s always fun to receive a lovely piece of mail. This fall, I want to encourage you to write a letter to a friend. If you aren’t sure what to write, refer to the prompts below for some questions to ask your friend. To get things rolling, you might offer up the answers you might share if your friend were to ask you the same. Here are some questions:
• What books are you reading right now and what do you think of them? • What is your favorite fall activity?
• What are your favorite foods and drinks to enjoy during this season?
• What is something new you learned recently?
