About Me

Hello! My name is Jillian.

I’ve learned from home all my life. My family has used eclectic customized courses and formal curriculum packages. As of spring 2022, I graduated from high school through a private accredited online school. All this to say, I have experience with many different styles and methods of homeschooling and I highly recommend the path! It allows for freedom, flexibility, and fun. For several years I was dedicated to learning classical ballet with more than twenty hours per week in class. Not being tied to a conventional school schedule made things much more manageable.

For many years now I have loved reading, and am a fan of classics—especially the wonderful classics written for children. During high school I was a member of National Honor Society (NHS) and began a community service project leading a free bookclub for young readers online. This led to private tutoring as well. I love teaching, working with kids, and having the opportunity to inspire a love for reading.

Whatever your student’s educational path, learners who get to focus on what interests them will be more engaged, quicker to grasp concepts and skills, and they are likely to have a positive attitude about learning in general. Given my background and experience, I have come to see how important it is that parents are familiar with what their students are being taught. At the same time, I realize families face various challenges as parents make every effort to be involved in the education of their student(s). This is where my small business comes in! I would like to provide a service that will help support families with young kids. I hope the classes I offer will be a great resource for homeschool families in particular looking for fun extracurricular programs. My goal is to encourage kids to read more wholesome books for fun, offer fun projects and assignments related to class reading material that will promote meaningful learning opportunities, as well as promote social skills and confidence through discussing books and projects during class with other students.
